Agricultural Land
Many people choose to purchase agricultural land in order to keep their animals on it, for grazing, for a pony paddock, and so forth.
Generally, speaking, such land is far more abundant and is less in demand than other types of greenbelt land. This is because one of the main determinants of the price of such land for sale - location - is far less important than if you were purchasing the greenbelt land for other purposes.
You could reasonably drive half an hour to see your sheep, for example, but such a distance between your land and a town would make it far less attractive.
Agricultural land and its suitability to be used for arable purposes is determined by soil type, topography, climate and physical location. Investors should consider these factors when determining how suitable the land is for farming, whether they do it or wait for another buyer who would.
The total supply of this kind of investment land continues to fall, so it comes as no surprise that the value of woodland and agricultural land continues to grow strongly, as it has been doing since the mid 1990's.
